I am Micheline Ouimet. My passion for food and wine has turned into a successful twenty-five year career in the hospitality industry. I learned the restaurant business intricacies from two icons in the industry: Erwin Doebeli and John Bishop. Through the years, I worked at The William Tell, Il Giardino, Bishop's, C, Hotel Vancouver and The Wedgewood, all well-known for their exceptional customer service and their unique concepts. I am a former restaurant owner of Micheline's which was a nominee for best restaurant of the year by BCRFA in 1995. The restaurant was featured in Western Living, Mobil Travel Guide, City Food, EAT magazine and the book Best Places to Kiss. I am a wine educator (sommelier) and a food service trainer. Since 2005, I have been involved in the educational sector of the industry. I taught Dining Room Service for the Culinary Arts program at Camosun college until 2007. Currently, I teach Wine Appreciation, Bartending and Server training at Camosun, Westshore Learning Centre and at many community centres in greater Victoria. As a former restaurant owner, I have experienced the sleepless nights worrying about the business, I understand very well the restaurant issues that managers and owners are facing. The Restaurant Coach is at your service.

TESTIMONIALS

"...all the personal touches that restaurant chains rarely achieve. This little civilized haven of food and wine is a charming addition to the Victoria dining-out scene. At Micheline's you'll be well looked after."
Noel Richardson from Western Living Magazine.

"Micheline was the sort of manager who 'liked to get things done.' She worked very well under pressure and always maintained her sense of humour. It was evident to me by her ability to interact with guests, manage staff, and deal with problems that Micheline has learned well from her many years of experience in the hospitality industry."
Harry Kambolis owner of C, Raincity Grill, and Nu restaurants
